Let us not forget the role of the Democrats meeting with Zelensky just before the White House meeting with President Trump and VP J.D. Vance. It's fair to surmise that there's some joint culpability afoot.

Not sure what I'm missing, but it seems that DJT has his finger on the scale to support the Russians. If he were an honest broker, he would offset the withdrawal of weapons and intel from the Ukrainians with an increase in sanctions on the Russians, especially in the financial world.
As it stands, Trump appears to be giving the Russians license for a turkey shoot.
