Actually, JFK was a coward when facing the USSR and waffled greatly over Russian missiles in Cuba. He'd been sucked in by the many Leftist lies told about Castro, not understanding that Castro was a creation of Stalin's Third International launched in Havana in 1943 at the height of WWII while we were 'allies' with the USSR. JFK instead ignored his generals and intel officials who pleaded with him to pay more attention to the Soviet threat. JFK also created his own personal backchannel to Kruschev and allowed Kruschev to commiserate with him about how they were both being bullied and manipulated by their generals, driving a wedge between JFK and his own NatSec leadership. The mythology is that these generals were dark figures, lusting for war but in fact they had the actual facts about Castro, Cuba and the USSR which JFK was refusing to face over and over.

The handling of the Cuban missile crisis was lied about for years by fawning JFK biographers but finally the transcripts were declassified and have come out. What's revealed is how weak and indecisive and scared JFK was. And how manipulated he was by communist propaganda that turned out to be 100% wrong. Fyi, this is a key part of the foundation of the mythology about the CIA killing JFK, you have to accept that JFK was this clear eyed peacemaker while his 'generals' were all war mongers and killed him due to their bloodlust. Don't believe me, do your own research and find the transcripts and see just how indecisive and incompetent JFK was as CINC during these crucial moments.

Facts matter. Most Americans have been fed an utter mythology about the 20th century, the U.S. and our leadership in the world. The worst and most incompetent leaders are presented as brilliant. Wilson, FDR, JFK are presented as heroes but in fact they were disasters for our nation. JFK was essentially soft on communism because he believed propaganda and lies instead of the hard truths his intel and military staff were delivering. Facts matter...

The idea that we allow a Chinese base in Cuba without immediately destroying it is a signal of just how weak and confused we are as a nation. For an actual patriot, this is a simple decision. Consider how little love our actual leadership of this country must have for this nation that they allow this to exist for an instant.

My brother was on one of the carriers during the first Cuba crises. Told me they all figured they would not return home.

No, we couldn’t use another Kennedy. Stop repeating the fable that JFK stared down Khrushchev. Khrushchev got what he wanted out of the deal: US missiles removed from Turkey and Italy, and JFK and LBJ’s promises to leave Castro alone. The latter amounted to massive Cuban interference all over the world and the deaths of many. Khrushchev was going to remove the missiles without a deal because Cuba shot down a U2 without Soviet permission.

So true, Sam. Biden and the deep state are not about protecting America, just their bank accounts and power. And the Rs are just as negligent for enabling by not fighting against. They think they get absolution by getting facetime on Fox and whining about the left.
