Regarding this subject, I highly recommend the (now decade old?) documentaries "Waiting for Superman" and "Runaway Slave." More recently, "Uncle Tom II" is also excellent.
I believe that there's another dynamic at play, too: the Progressives / Democrats / Marxists (but I repeat myself) need a permanent underclass, both as a basis of support, BUT ALSO TO USE TO FEED THE FALSE NARRATIVES OF "WHITE PRIVILEGE" AND "SYSTEMIC RACISM."
Without that permanent underclass, those narratives would crash. And the Cultural Marxists need those narratives in order to continue their subversive deconstruction of our Constitutional Republic.
The only thing they seem to be taught is the Democrats' platform that you are owed simply because you are black. I was raised with the constant reminder that I was to prepare to provide for myself, there there was no free ride. Times change. Welfare and handouts have destroyed more than it ever helped.
Great article. People should wake up to the "Common Core" communist math program that clearly makes our children among the worse math performers in the world. It is really designed to separate the kids from their parents who can no longer help their children with an unworkable boondoggle math approach that I believe was designed to stunt our children's math education. We put men on the moon without computers with the old math and now our kids can't figure out how to make change at a cash register.
I live on the left coast, in the state between CA and WA. Education is no better here, guaranteed! Test scores were so poor that in typical leftist fashion the passing score was lowered so they could boast that graduation rates had increased. Parent, get your kids out of these government indoctrination centers! And as Rockville Mom notes, be wise and alert, some private schools have become indoctrination centers also. The Devil never rests.
As a side note Sam, you mention the total dollars donated to political parties, 1 mil to dems, 3ooK to repubs. That simply shows me Republicans can be purchased much cheaper than Democrats ;-)
It's a terrible situation, but all the public schools in Maryland have been adversely impacted by the addition of SEL and LGBTQIA indoctrination. Every minute spent on that is taken from math, reading, science, English, etc. I know a family in the Baltimore suburbs who realized during Covid what nonsense the public schools were teaching and moved their kids to a Catholic school. The school now has a waiting list of at least 10 students for each grade. Even so, Catholic schools are no guarantee of freedom from the indoctrination - a co-ed Catholic high school (alma mater of several family members) now has a trans student!
