Years ago, I was serving in a CIA station in a Middle Eastern country. The Iranians paid assets to bring bags of trash and leave them against the wall around the U.S. Embassy. Every time a bag was detected, Embassy security personnel would respond, make sure the bag did not contain explosives, and then dispose of it.
Now that FTX is out of action, the CCP could incorporate the Iranian method, and use balloons to deliver bags of cash to the Biden beach house and White House ... and Capitol Hill. That way the cash transfers are untraceable through the usual banking system(s).

Maybe NORAD and the Space Force are asleep at the switch. Is our acquisition radar and systems only set up to detect "Fast Moving" objects where this balloon can drift slowly over the ground undetected? I also wonder if the SIGINT picked up and jammed the freqs it was operating at?
If, if our sovereign airspace is regularly being infiltrated undetected than we, the Unites States of America, are in 'heap big trouble' as the late El Rushbo would quip. Time for a change of leadership.

On point exactly. Our reaction time and methods are far more valuable than anything seen on the ground. Furthermore, this balloon was specifically taken over strategic locations as a provocation. Again, what is our response? I think they were not surprised.
Which begs the question, what are they doing over South America? That is of more interest to me. We have not be given that flight path.

Perhaps the balloon people where just out to look over what the obiden's have given them, what they sold to them. You know like a Sunday drive.
