Nothing good will come of this 'advancement in service'. Any bets there is facial recognition software in play? Not for the bad guys but for the good guys. Just wait for the new laws to be enacted after the first monitoring device is taken down via flak, I'm guessing it will have the same penalty as if it were a human. RE: 911, I was working as a first responder in a large agency when the 911 system was implemented, what a fiasco. Civilians with no experience in emergency service taking calls and asking questions using a flow chart, often calling upon a floor supervisor to decide how to deal with the emergency. Far from expediting the proper response. Then HR and DEI decided who to hire... you see where this ended up.

Good article Mr. Faddis, proving once again RR's statement "government is the problem".

Progressive style of government is a pyramid scheme so when the money runs out they resort to the “oh shit” plan.

the social contract between citizen and state, for the services that are covered as justification for state taxes is police, Fire, ambulance, trash collection, etc. Trash collection became a separate, paid "Service Fee" years ago in Virginia. Volunteer fire companies raise money on their own to help fund that service. Many areas have a fee structure if you call an ambulance. A work in progress. Replacing an armed police officer with a flying camera is indefensible decision. The people have no choice but to stop paying state, county and city taxes. No services, there is no reason to send them your money to pay for a service that no longer exiists.

Gary, good point. And God forbid you are a county clerk that follows election law and makes a back-up of the last election...

I'd say that there's a correlation - perhaps even an intended result - between today's Denver and this:

"It began in 2004, when a handful of wealthy liberals and Democrats came together with a goal: reimagine the Democratic Party in Colorado with an eye toward finally turning the state blue.

"Called the 'Gang of Four,' they worked campaign finance laws to their advantage and poured millions of dollars into statewide legislative races — moves detailed in the 2010 book 'The Blueprint.'”

If after what we have seen during the last four years you have not made preparations to protect and defend yourself and family, then you must be willing to become a victim. The calvary is most likely not coming and what does arrive will be there to write up the report for the file.
