The CIA should be DO-centric. But, for that to work, there has to be a functioning DO. Is it too late to reform the DO?
In 2025, there is an entire generation in the DO, who have been hired, trained, operated, and are now retiring, all under the PC-Progressive politicized, DEI umbrella.
Thirty years after the Cat B women's settlement, and nearly 20 years after Obama's pet, Brennan politicized the Agency, case officers are rewarded and promoted not for their abilities or successes, but for what's between their legs, or the color of their skin, or other political categories.
The Khost bombing is the epitome of PC-Prog incompetence in the DO. PC Killed 7 at Khost. The out-of-embassy push, and the demands to on-board diverse case officer candidates, resulted in hiring young females with little to no useful experience--like Amaryllis Fox, and one whose qualifications were mainly that she'd been a fashion model.
That generation is now senior management. They're the ones who'll be reforming the CIA, if ever such an effort comes to fruition. Whatever "reforms" they might put in place are unlikely to be what's needed to right the ship.
The only possibility for actual, fundamental, needed reform is a reformation guided by an unaligned outside group of experts. Something like DOGE for the DO. Audit, gather data, slash and burn, visualize excellence, and rebuild to achieve excellence. Rebuilding will require revamped recruiting and training and operations, as well as reforming the organization.
That's a tall order. But without it, the CIA will continue to be the foundation of the Deep State, the politicized, hidden federal bureaucracy with a mission of resisting the will of American voters, to perpetuate anti-American, PC-Progressive political goals--NOT the security of our country.
It is always gratifying to read comments by someone who knows of what they speak. While I don't know your background Mr. Clizbe, from the in depth analysis of your post, I suspect you have more than a passing knowledge of what and how the intelligence apparatus of this country should function. Good for you for sharing that knowledge. It certainly adds to Mr. Faddis's analysis of how broken that apparatus has become and how difficult it will be to correct, if, that is, the American voter will continue to put people in political office that will continue to travel down the hard road to correct it.
Why can't we eliminate CIA? It has been shown that they do work on American soil which i thought was illegal so why not eliminate the entire agency and start anew with a new mandate
The mission of the CIA will be done by someone, or some organization, whether the CIA exists, or not.
The problem is that today's CIA, as the bureaucracy has evolved, behind a cloak of secrecy, tainted by PC-Progressive DIE, Affirmative Action, etc, then politicized by the neocons and PC-Progs, is sick.
That's why a reformation is needed. Maybe that will require eliminating the current version, and starting again. Its existence, organization, and mission are based on Executive Orders. So Executive Orders could erase and reform it.
Perhaps reformation of appointment and promotion standards? A minimum of 5-7 years of productive field work for instance?
On a much less critical scale, as a firefighter in a major west coast city, I experienced the promotion of individuals with little to no firefighting experience. I advocated for, as the trouble maker I was, for the final evaluation for permanent advancement to include opinions of the crew. They, better than anyone, will know the competence of the new officer and the safety or hazard the new promotee will be as a line officer.
Mr Faddis, I pray you have a POC in DC listening to your strategic thoughts! I often wonder how many of the top-level gov't are graduates of the establishment's MK Ultra program. I reference Dr Juliette Engel's disclosures. Thank you for your ongoing and excellent work!
What makes rebuilding the ODNI is that there are far fewer candidates which get even near, yet qualified, to fill new positions needed. Then, it's even smaller of a "pool" of qualified candidates who comprehend an adequate work ethic and have an America First mindset. How can I say this? I taught some of the 30 something of yesteryear in the classroom! Granted, not all of them were losers, but too many of them were!
IMO as families continue to be nothing more where sometimes related people live in a common area but are no longer what a family once was--mom work outside the house someone else cooks cleans cares for kids dad works outside the house and is just so busy can't be home to be head of family children are off with organization activities that parents might attend if time permits but are not actually involved other than writing checks. There is no family structure that teaches values we don't bother yo teach right from wrong school is the teacher no matter what it's worth if issues happen at school always school or teachers fault never the child and parents no longer address any of those issues it is to time consuming too others Parents have decided that society can have their children very early in life**one step away from children being raised in factories operated by government soldiers. We aren't very far from the last step

Excellent analysis and commentary.

All very true. Good people died at Khost who should be alive today.
Do you guys think Ratcliffe is up to the task?

I'm sure Sam has great ideas on that.

Guess Im kind of a nerd, but I’d love to know the history of everyone that was fired.
The Trymp Reformation is moving rather rapidly, with a Herculean stable to clean of accumulated filth.
Theoretically, the DNI’s ODNI will provide considerable weight behind the DCI’s stable-cleaning.
Personally, I’m giving them another year for the cleansing river to be diverted to the CIA stables.
